Food Design Festival

Food Design Festival is the first independent, unique, global and contemporary festival to explore the value of design and its relationship with food. It was founded in 2019 by Antonio Barrera and Juan Ariza in Córdoba, a leading city in the Spanish agri-food industry. In that year, it received the Anuaria National Design Award for the best advertising campaign.

Since its first edition, the Food Design Festival has brought people, professionals and organizations together due to its multidisciplinary and collaborative approach, serving as a meeting point and a generator of synergy among all the actors in the food ecosystem who share the common goal of using design as a driver of innovation to face present and future challenges. More importantly, it has made the design discipline more accessible and understandable to non-designers and fostered new ways of collaborating between designers of different kinds.

Nowadays, Food Design Festival is designed and produced by Singular Foods, and endorsed by the Design Institute of Spain y Global Fruit Latam.

Inspiring and uniting people using food as a universal language

Food Design Festival has proved to be a powerful tool to amplify and disseminate the value of design and its relationship with food.

On this occasion, we have designed a calendar of events, content and actions to communicate the need for design in the food industry and to promote social interaction and conversation using food as a universal language. We aim to raise awareness, provoke actions, create deep connections, and foster rich debate to spark impactful change around cultural, social and environmental issues to change the world for the better.

Our highest motivation is to unite people to create a Sustainable Food Culture for all.

2021 Food Design Festival:

Design for People, Health and Nature

2020 ended as a scenario for potential future connections between Design and Food.

In this third edition, we present the Food Design Festival 2021 as a channel for realities and a journey around real experiences that bring to the fore the bond between people and their environment through specific design applications in food.

On the topic of this year’s claim -People, Health and Nature- more than 80 professionals from 20 different countries, i.e. artists, researchers, teachers, architects, entrepreneurs, nutritionists, chefs, journalists, communicators, artisans, engineers, opinion leaders and other professionals of the food industry, will gather from the 26th to the 30th of July to discuss different perspectives around the fields of research, design, gastronomy, technology and food innovation to better understand the need to create a more sustainable environment.
